the 8" I have is definitely too big, 7" is the upmost size I think. It is owned by my friend SP9MK for Tulipan SDR, the link.
It has resistive touchscreen. I have it only for driver development. You may see that the size is overall larger than UI OVI40
Quick view of first test of the driver two days ago and my desk mess:
On the left mcHF 0.4 with 3.5" lcd. Ovi board is without RF board, just UI with some supply. UI+RA draws ~480mA@12V, linear supply.
RA8875 has different touchscreen controller because it is implemented inside the RA8875 (resistive of course), capacitive has external I2C chip, and for this reason driver development will take some time. Also there are million thoughts about the new layout, fonts, zoom mode etc...
